What is Healthy Foundations?

Evidence shows that the best option for improving your current health and reducing your risk of future illness is a structured program of physical activity and change in nutrition. Let us be right beside you on your journey to better health and wellness. Pinnacle Medical Wellness encompasses nutrition, fitness & physical therapy to promote a healthy lifestyle. Our 16-week Healthy Foundations program provides group support and education, prescriptive exercise, physical therapy and nutrition counseling to help you get strong, healthy and build positive lifestyle habits. Our next series begins soon!

A unique lifestyle program

What makes the Healthy Foundations program so unique is that it’s promoting a sustainable way of living healthfully that encompasses all facets of health – physical, mental and emotional well-being.  We want people to understand that losing weight is not the answer. Instead think of weight as a symptom of an underlying problem that needs to be addressed. The Healthy Foundations program helps people get to the root of the problem to improve their overall health.

Education is key!

hand-drawing-light-bulb_gj6czcr_.jpgIn the program we address those underlying issues, including educating our participants about the importance of healthy eating and what exactly that means, teaching them how to exercise, helping them get over mental and emotional barriers, and helping them understand how to take care of themselves in a holistic manner. The weekly classes held at Valley Medical Center are in a group setting so participants can also learn from each other. 

How to be successful

I’ve noticed the participants that have the most success in this program keep an open mind to the topics we discuss in both our individual sessions and our group lectures. Then they apply these learnings to their own lives, and most importantly ditch the idea that this as a weight loss program – because it’s not. While it was originally designed as one, the concept of the program is to teach foundational skills and practices to help them make positive changes in their lifestyles, thus the name … Healthy Foundations.

  • February 3 - May 18, Wednesdays from 1pm-2pm
  • February 10 – May 25, Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm

All classes are located at Valley Medical Center in the Medical Arts Center (MAC). Address: 400 S 43rd St, Renton, WA 98055. Nutrition, fitness & physical therapy are scheduled at any Pinnacle location or VMC Fitness Center.
