Trudy's Healthy Foundations story

Why did you decide to join the Healthy Foundations program?
It was recommended by my doctor as I didn’t want to have surgery. I was looking for other methods to manage the pain and I wanted to be healthier to play with my grandchildren. 

Can you tell us a little bit about your experience?
At first, it was hard to talk about how and what may be contributing to my health issue/weight gain. By talking about it and working with the nutritionist, physical therapist, and exercise specialist together they set me up to succeed.  They are all friendly, listen and make changes or suggestions that seem to work very well.  During my 16 weeks, I lost 40 pounds, was able to climb 3 sets of stairs, and I went from a size 22 to a size 16. 

What are some healthy tips that you learned?
Eating healthier food, what to look for on labels, how exercise and eating better can improve your mind, body and just feeling good about yourself and decisions you make.

Do you have a favorite/fond memory from the program?
Classmates with similar goals, stories, and ideas. Use of the exercise key (Technogym's Smart Key) that gives me different exercises each day.

Is there any advice you would like to give to current or prospective members?
It may be hard to get started but once you embrace it there are so many helpful tools and team members that will help you succeed. You will not regret using this program.

What kept you motivated? 
The classes and team members help create your goals. Using tools like the Smart Key for my exercises or recipes that I can incorporate into my lifestyle, helped me make healthier choices. There were times when it got tough like going on vacation or to parties. The Healthy Foundations program gives you ideas that you can use to eat out at restaurants or get extra exercise instead of worrying about it. After all, vacation and family are meant to be fun time not worry time. My Physical Therapist also helped with working on pain areas.

After your completion of the Healthy Foundations program, what made you decide to continue into the Lifestyle 365 program?  
The Healthy Foundation program helped me get started and succeed but I still have a way to go to meet my new goals; now that I see that it can be done with a little help by using the Lifestyle 365 program.
